A Cherished Tradition
Come see a beautiful sight that will warm your heart this holiday season--Christmas trees overflowing with silver-star ornaments. Give a donation to the St. Elizabeth Foundation in honor or in memory of someone special, and a personalized silver-star ornament with your loved one’s name is placed on the trees for all to see. A cherished tradition for over 20 years, the Lights of Love trees are a visual reminder of love felt throughout the year.
Raising Funds for a Life-Saving HeRO
Your donation to Lights of Love will help provide the HeRO (Heart Rate Observation System) for our tiniest patients in the NICU at CHI Health St. Elizabeth. The HeRO is a state-of-the-art monitoring system which detects early signs of distress, commonly caused by infection and other potentially life-threatening diseases. In a study by the National Institute of Health & Medical Predictive Science Corporation, research on the Heart Rate Observation System (HeRO monitor) has shown a greater than 20% reduced mortality rate in clinical trials for very low birth weight babies. The study’s lead investigator, Randall Moorman, MD, has said, “The HeRO monitor is the voice for infants who can’t speak for themselves. It’s an early warning system for NICU doctors and nurses to get to the right bedside at the right time.”
Come See the Trees
We invite you to come see the beautiful Lights of Love trees this holiday season! Every year the trees are filled with hundreds of personalized ornaments because of donors like you who support our healing mission. Thank you for your support. We are grateful for every gift and every dollar! You may see the trees on display at St. Elizabeth until Friday, January 7th, on the 1st level of the hospital in the walkway near Admissions.
You are Invited to the Lights of Love Ceremony
Donors, staff and the public are welcome to join us for a short Lights of Love program which will feature Jason Kruger, MD, who will share about the healing journey of his premature triplets in the St. Elizabeth NICU, followed by the lighting of the outdoor Christmas trees at St. Elizabeth. The Book of Honor with the names of those honored will be available for viewing after the ceremony.
Sunday, November 27, at 6 p.m.
Lower Level of CHI Health St. Elizabeth
